Body

Duo Verified Push

Why is Duo Verified Push needed?

Due to an increase in MFA (multi-factor authentication) fatigue incidents, where users mistakenly approve fraudulent authentication requests, Duo Verified Push has been implemented as an extra layer of protection. When accessing online applications such as Teams and Email and using the DUO Push feature, you will now be presented with a 3 digit code. This code replaces the "approve" button, meaning you need to enter this code into the DUO app when you receive a push. This change ensures that only legitimate login attempts are approved, protecting your information and maintaining the security of our systems.

Steps to Use Duo Verified Push

  1. Log In:

  • Enter your username and password on the application or service (Email, Teams, etc...) you are accessing.

  1. Receive Push Notification:

  • Open the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone.

  • You will receive a push notification for authentication.

  1. Verify:

  • If you did not initiate the login attempt, tap "I’m not logging in."

  • If the details match your login attempt, tap "Enter Code" in the Duo Mobile app.

  1. Enter Code:

  • The DUO prompt will present you with a numerical code. Enter this code into the DUO app and press the arrow to enter it in.
