When to Use
Use this process when you need to:
Steps
Open a Dashboard
Access to dashboards is based on assigned security roles. This Job Aid utilizes the My Team Management Dashboard as an example.
From the Workday Home page:
- Enter the name of the dashboard into the search bar and select the magnifying glass to search – i.e. My Team Management – and press Enter.
- Select dashboard from Search Results.

- Alternatively, you may select it from Applications on the home page, if it is listed.
- Click Menu on the Home page.
- Select the dashboard from the list - My Team Management.

- You will be directed to the landing page containing the reports that make up the dashboard. In this example, there are reports like Compare Team, Organization Directory, and more.
- These are individual reports that use their own selection criteria, and in this example, they are looking for information that is attached to the security permissions of the user operating the dashboard.

- Within the dashboard, you can view the report in a limited view that shows a graphic and the first several lines of the report’s output.
- To view an individual report in its entirety, select the View More option.

Configure Your Dashboard
Note: You may not be able to remove or add worklets on some dashboards. This varies based on your organization’s security settings. Single-tab dashboards only allow six worklets; however, custom dashboards support multi-tab functionality and can have six worklets per tab.
From a single-tab dashboard:
- Open dashboard using Global Search or Menu on Workday Home page (i.e. My Team Management).
- Select the Configure Task for Landing Page Group icon (gear).
- The Configure Worklets page will appear.

- Click the Add Row icon (plus) to add a new worklet.

- Select the Worklet field to search for and choose a worklet from the list of available worklets.
- Click in the blank field and drill to select the desired Worklet.
- Click OK.
- Click Done.

- Click the Remove Row icon (minus) to remove a worklet from the dashboard.
- Select the Configure Task for Landing Page Group icon (gear).

- In the Order column, select the Move Row Up or Move Row Down icons (arrows) to reorder the worklets on the page.

- Select OK to save.

Note: Custom dashboards support multiple tabs so you can group worklets within a dashboard. Each tab maintains a limit of six worklets.
From a multi-tab dashboard:
- Select the Configure Task for Landing Page Group icon (gear).
- On the left, choose the tab you wish to configure.
- Select the Add Row icon (plus) to add a new worklet.
- Select the Worklet field to search for and choose a worklet from the list of available worklets.
- Select the Remove Row (minus) icon to remove a worklet from the dashboard.
- Select the Move Row Up or Move Row Down icons (arrows) to reorder the worklets on the page.
