Jamf Self Service allows Norfolk State University users to install approved applications without requiring administrative privileges. Follow the steps below to install software on your Mac.

Prerequisites

  • Your Mac must be enrolled in NSU’s Jamf management system.
  • The Mac must be connected to the internet.
  • You must be signed in with your account.

Installing Applications

1. Open Self Service

  • Open Self Service from the Applications folder, Launchpad, or Spotlight Search.
  • If prompted, sign in using your NSU credentials.

2. Browse Available Applications

  • Select the Applications category from the Self Service homepage.
  • Browse the list of available software or use the search bar to locate a specific application.

3. Install an Application

  • Locate the application you wish to install.
  • Click Install next to the application name.

4. Wait for Installation to Complete

  • Self Service will begin downloading and installing the application automatically.
  • Installation time may vary depending on the application size and network speed.

5. Verify the Installation

  • Once the installation is complete, open the Applications folder.
