The Cardinal Team has made an array of resources available for your convenience to effectively use Cardinal HCM. Steps to log into Cardinal, information to utilize Cardinal training, as well as guidance to obtain personal support when encountering system issues, are provided.

Logging into Cardinal HCM
Logging into Cardinal for the first time, visit https://www.cardinalproject.virginia.gov/portal and under the Question: Do I need to register?, click on the link ‘Cardinal Registration Quick Start Guide.’
Otherwise, go directly to the Cardinal log-in page, https://my.cardinal.virginia.gov/, and enter your username and password.

Cardinal HCM Training
Interested in training, here is the website for Cardinal web training - https://www.cardinalproject.virginia.gov/wbt. Login credentials are not required. Cardinal Nest is no longer available. The recommended courses follows.
Supervisors and Managers should take these courses.
- INTRO102: Overview of Cardinal Human Capital Management (HCM)
- NAV205: Navigation in Cardinal HCM
- TA373: Time & Attendance for Supervisors & Managers with Absence Management (NSU has Absence Management)
Student Workers, Adjunct, Hourly and Salaried Employees, who are not supervisors or managers, should take these courses.

- If you encounter a Cardinal issue that cannot be resolved using the provided resources, please submit a help desk ticket to vccc@vita.virginia.gov and include the word “Cardinal” in the subject line. Be sure to include your name, email address, and a phone number where you can be reached. Also, include a brief description of your issue.
