Purpose
This job aid explains how to add, edit, or remove applications and shortcuts using the Workday Menu. Customizing shortcuts and menu items allows users to quickly access frequently used tools and improve navigation efficiency.

When to Use
Use this job aid when you:
- Add frequently used applications or tasks as shortcuts
- Edit or remove existing shortcuts
- Navigate the Workday Menu
- Customize how you access Workday features
Steps
Step 1: Access the Workday Home Page
- Log in to Workday.
- Confirm you are on the Workday Home Page.
Step 2: Open the Menu
- Locate the Global Navigation Menu on the left side of the screen (see screenshot below).
- If the Menu is not visible, select the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) next to the word Menu to expand it.

Step 3: Review Menu Sections
The Global Navigation Menu contains two primary sections (see the screenshot below):
- Shortcuts – Displays quick links to frequently used tasks and applications.
- Menu Items – Displays all available Workday applications and functions based on your role.

Step 4: Add an Application to the Menu
- In the upper-left corner, select the Menu icon, and the Global Navigation Menu appears.
- Select the Add option at the bottom of the page
- Browse or search for the application you want to add (see the screenshot below).
- Select the plus sign next to the application you want to add.
- The application will now appear on the Global Navigation Menu for quick access.

Step 5: Add a Shortcut
- Navigate to the shortcut tab in the Global Navigation (see the screenshot below).
- Select the Add Shortcuts icon (see screenshot below).
- Search for the shortcut you want to add. Click the plus sign next to the item you wish to add to Shortcuts.
- The item will appear in the Shortcuts section of the Menu.

Step 6: Remove Menu Items or Shortcuts
- In the Menu or Shortcuts section, select the Edit icon at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Edit Apps menu, select the minus sign icon next to the item you want to remove (see screenshots below).
- Confirm the change if prompted.

- Menu options and available shortcuts depend on your role and security permissions.
- Changes you make affect only your view and do not impact other users.
- Some required applications cannot be removed from the Menu.
- Using shortcuts can significantly reduce navigation time for frequent tasks.
- If you do not see an option to add shortcuts, contact your Workday support team through TDX.
