Request for Hire HR1 (Grants)

Why would I need this service?

HR1 Form - departmental request for personnel action.

This service is for grant positions (Title III or Sponsored Programs). Requests must include the complete package of documentation (Employee Work Profile, job duties, organizational chart, and other documentation ) must be submitted with this form. For Title III and Sponsored Programs, additional information is needed.

For Grants, Contracts, & Sponsored Programs, Please attach the following:

  • Agency Approved Budget for the requested expense.
  • Agency Approved Budget Narrative/Summary that details the requested expense.
  • Any associated correspondence (emails) that support a deviation from the original Budget, Budget narrative, or requested expense.
  • Colleague Grant/Award "projects Accounting Revenue and Remaining" Screenshot.
  • Colleague Grants Budget to Actuals Screenshot
  • Authorization for Sponsored Programs Related to Supplemental Compensation

Use the Request for Hire HR1 link on the right to submit the HR-1 form and all accompanying information.

  • The step-by-step instruction on completing the Request for Hire HR1 (Non-Grant) online form is located in the 'Attachment' box on the bottom right side of the screen.

Please Note: The Position Control Number (PCN) is required for all positions except Student and Hourly positions. If you do not have a PCN for this position, return to the Service Catalog to complete the PCN form.

What happens after I submit the request?


You will receive an email confirming that you entered the request. Human Resources will follow up with you once your request has been received.
